Things I now know
My friends Tim and Joanna visited me from Toronto last week and we had quite a number of hijinks in Las Vegas and Southern California. I always try to turn my outings into an educational experience, so I will share here a few things I learned when I was in Vegas:
- Taxicab drivers are the yellow page directory of adult entertainment. They are also very pushy salesmen.
- $5.95 prime rib in Primm, Nevada is surprisingly good
- In Vegas, drinks are far overpriced in some places, and far underpriced in others. There is no rhyme nor reason, except that...
- If you gamble, you'll be taken care of, but...
- Drinking at the poker table is not a successful winning strategy
- Never say no to Vegas nightlife. We passed on lining up for Pure at Caesar's Palace, and later found out that Ashlee Simpson was celebrating her 21st birthday with her sister Jessica there.
- The city may never sleep, but trying to find a real restaurant that's open at midnight on a Sunday is a challenge.

I wanna come visit next!!! That is if I can manage to convince Chris to go on vacation with me...
Did you know that Alex is down in San Diego now working for Nokia? Just to let you know.
Wowee! I wanna go to Vegas someday. (And just what KIND of "adult entertainment" were you asking the cabbies about? ;)
Oh so very true. When a taxicab driver gives you his business card and it is written in pencil on a torn piece of scrap paper, you've got to wonder.
I didn't know about Ashlee, but still don't care. I saw Robin Wiliiams in SF and got his autograph. Much better since he was telling his own jokes. :)
You rock Tao! LV & LA were awesome!! Viva Casa del Tao!!
Tim
Let's just say that all types entertainment is available in Vegas. ALL TYPES.
